The ever popular ChipLitFest, Chipping Norton’s literature festival for both writers and readers alike, returns in April this year.
After being asked to sponsor an event for the first time last year, I’m delighted that I can lend my support again to one of the varied and interesting events happening over the four-day festival.
ChipLitFest runs from 21st – 24th April at various venues around the town. Alongside the talks from well-known writers such as Fay Weldon, David Nicholls and Joanne Harris, you’ll find hour-long sessions on the finer points of crafting your writing skills as well as events to attract the younger readers.
The event I’m sponsoring is called Alys Fowler: The Thrifty Forager and Gardener and is being held on Sunday 24th April in Chipping Norton Town Hall from 1-2pm. Alys Fowler is a well-known horticulturist and journalist, having studied at the Royal Horticultural Society and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. She writes about money-saving gardening hints and tips for a number of different publications including Gardeners’ World, the Guardian, Gardens Illustrated, Country Living and the Daily Mail.
So if you, like me, have an interest in horticulture and gardening, then why not come along? Tickets for this event and others at the festival can be booked via The Theatre Chipping Norton’s website.
